The site comprises a large rectangular corner allotment in a conservation area with an existing Italianate style house, with late Victorian detailing. The original single storey house will be retained and a contemporary addition to the rear will provide three levels of additional accommodation overlooking the city with a new pool and landscaped garden. The lot will be subdivided with two townhouses fronting the laneway to the rear. The townhouses each contain two bedrooms and will reuse the existing bricks from the stables that they replace.
The proposal has been designed to relate to its site and to the streetscape in terms of appearance, envelope, setbacks, bulk and scale.
